Mark is an associate member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, and in good standing with the Institute, he became a member in November 1982. He is also a member of the Chartered
Accountants of South Africa becoming a member in February 1989.
He commenced work as an articled clerk to Deloitte, Manchester. Transferred to Deloitte Johannesburg on a 2 year contract initially. Promoted through the audit division ranks in Johannesburg becoming audit partner for 9 years and worked on a number of large local and international clients. He then moved to the JD Group Limited, South Africa joining the Board of JDG Trading in January 1998 as Executive Director in charge of New Business Development and Strategy. JD Group Limited is a public company listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and is a retailer of furniture and appliances operating through 950 stores in Southern Africa. Executive Director in charge of Information Technology, Property Services, Fleet Management, Insurance Companies, Legal & Compliance, Internal Audit and Risk Management.
Mark moved to Mauritius in 2009 and has been working in the accounting and finance arena since then. Mark started working for AFG in November 2016 and was appointed a director In July 2019.
